I originally used 7 sheets of Montval Canson Watercolour paper (185gsm/90lb – 18x25cm/7⅞”x9⅞”), but added 4 punched Manilla tags (+2 in a pocket page), 3 A5 (5.9×8.3 inches) Daler Rowney Mixed Media paper (250gsm/169lb), 2 sheets in A4, punched landscape and folded in a flap (one of them I used to make a pocket page using rainbow washi tape), 1 scrap piece of Fabriano watercolour paper (I reinforced the punched edge on both sides with washi tape), 1 piece of cut out thick drawing paper (not sure what it is and what weight, I’ve had that bit of paper in my stash for a few months) which I folded in a flap and taped a square photo of my son with funky washi tape, 1 A5 polly pocket with photos attached together with washi tape (I know, I love washi tape!! Lol!).
For my cereal box covers, I painted the front cover with a thick layer of white gesso and used a baby wipe to thin it where I wanted the original image to show through. I used a Stabilo All pencil in black to draw the outline of the original image as well as the girl and my title, and activated the pigment with a small waterbrush. Once dry, I coloured in using A Wink of Stella Brushes glitter ink from Zig and Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam glitter paints.
For the outer back cover, I used an old Gelli Plate print I made on A4 printing paper, punched it, matched the punches with the ones on the back coverand glued them together with Mod Podge. I trimmed the excess of printing paper with scissors.
For the inner back cover, I taped a photo of my beautiful cat, my baby Lego, with glittery washi tape, creating a frame around the photo, and cut out a heart out of some excess washi tape I cut out for the frame.
I hope you enjoy this flip-through and that it gives you some ideas for your own projects.
