And here is Part 2 of this video series, using my patterned strips into a mixed media project.
This video only shows the start and middle of this project (my camera ran out of battery and stopped, and I was so caught up into this project that I didn’t realise!)
- my patterned strips created in PART 1
- Turner Acryl gouaches in 3 colours for my background
- Pritt permanent Power Glue stick
- Neocolor II crayon in Prussian Blue
- a waterbrush
- Pentel Hybrid white gel pen
I started by applying my 3 colours of acrylic gouache with my fingers, not being too careful about the application, but making sure my colours were spread evenly (for quick drying).
I then tore and glued my patterned strips in various places on my page.
To make them stand out against the background, I scribbled around each strip with my watersoluble crayon and activated with a waterbrush.
Once it was dry, I used my white gel pen to add doodles and journaling. It also breaks the background and add more dimension and interest.
And here we have a very easy mixed media page done in less than 20 minutes in real time.
